Tomorrow, Spreadshirt UK will present at the September MiniBar, socializing over tech DIY fun and new start up ideas.

MiniBar is a social evening in East London which offers people a chance to snaffle some free beer while discussing p2p, Creative Commons, web applications, social networking and general Web 2.0 (3.0) mayhem & fandango. Larry Ryan will give a presentation on the Spreadshirt concept, and we’ll bring along some shirts, too.

At the MiniBar you can find people who will help you making your next project work. They like to call it “useful fun”. Usually there are 250+ of the finest famousest digerati and tech investors such as Esther Dyson (angel investor in Flickr and delcious), Mark Shuttleworth (Ubuntu), to tech journalists (Guardian, BBC), bloggers (OpenBusiness etc), Open Source developers (Drupal, Ubuntu), web designers, Creative Commons enthusiasts, web entrepreneurs (last.fm, eCourier, Tioti) to many coders, media artists and other generally useful, interesting and hyper connected people.

Theres not much to say about this, other than its really great. You remember those old flipbooks from when you were a kid? Hundreds of panels painstakingly created so that when flipped then you got literally seconds of enjoyment! I remember some discussion about the American Apparel ads here a while back. I seem to remember although I might have just been being oversensitive, I was the only one against them. Theres a nice article in the Onion today about the liberation of 14 AA models.

“Acting on information gathered from billboards, alternative weeklies, and Internet banner ads, an FBI strike team liberated 14 dazed, sallow, and undernourished American Apparel models in a raid on the controversial organization’s downtown Los Angeles compound early Monday.”

We talked a few times about a simple way of selling shirts, hopping on a current trend or fad. I wrote a post on it here a while back. Today Boing Boing discusses the latest in a long line of things that weren’t that funny to start with, but end up in our collective subconscious anyway

Just stumbled across this video of Chuck Norris reading out his favourite facts taken directly from our partner shop. 

Notice the upbeat music that comes up behind Chuck’s voice as he starts to read…This background music will suddenly play any time you wear one of the shirts, too.  And of course the random applause as well, but that happens all the time (to me, anyway).
