One week to go, and everybody is doing his part for the presidential election race - be it action figures, artworks, prints, dance-offs, pumpkins, or simply t-shirts! Since we believe in the t-shirt thing and the game called “wisdom of the crowds”, we joined the party and gathered some completely irrelevant, but interesting figures of our database for you.

Quite a while ago, when switching our blog platform from Nucleus to Wordpress, we went on a little “Blog Safari”. Now that The International T-Shirt Day is getting closer and closer, we´re off on Safari again.
And this is how it works: 20 bloggers who
- use the tag “tshirtday08″
- when writing about the first International T-Shirt-Day (which will be celebrated on June 21st in Europe),
- link to www.t-shirtday.com and
- comment on this post or simply post a trackback,
will get the brand new Zeixs book on t-shirt design or laFraise vouchers. If more than 20 bloggers take part, the winners will be drawn at random.
In addition, the best story in regards to a favourite t-shirt, which is posted before the 21st of June, will be awarded with a Samsung NV24D Digital Camera.
We haven’t been making too much noise about it. Yet! Because behind the scenes Greg, well-known from a range of projects is conducting the official official site for the yet to come first international T-Shirtday. On June 21th, the first day of summer, we want to celebrate the T-Shirt - together with you!
That’s why we need your story: What’s your favourite T-Shirt and why do you like it? Send us your foto wearing your favourite shirt, and a short text until Monday evening 6PM to stories AT spreadshirt . net
And this is what you can win:
Short question in advance:
1950 – One in every 30 children died*
2005 – One in 500 every children died*
Do you know why?

A meeting on our balcony: Jonas and Henning are discussing the marketplace.
Jonas owns some Spreadshirt Shops and did the wonderful inofficial Marketplace Search “Spreadtags”. “I just thought the other day - this can’t be too complicated. So I sat down and did the whole thing in just one night. Okay, maybe it was a little “brute force” for your servers, but the Spreadtags Search was ready to go.” With his Search requests he indeed created some issues for our IT (and the servers) - but in the end we found a solution to support his project (which is, btw. also very popular amongst Spreadshirt employees).
In the meantime Spreadtags offers over 160.000 tags in the European Marketplace, and is also available for the US Marketplace.

Were now into week two of the Soil Associations Organic Fortnight, a two week celebration of all things organic, reminding us all to do something that benefits our health and the planet. The fortnight runs until the 16th of September, and the theme this year is to Wake Up to an Organic Breakfast.
My immediate thoughts were Get me one of our organic shirts Im going to eat it for breakfast, people! After that initial wave of excitement passed I quickly remembered that this is impossible. For now. (Im all for the idea of edible shirts…Or even a breakfast cereal that’s made from little mini-shirts?)
Until that genius idea comes to fruition, I came about this cool Marketplace design from FluffyLikeRazors that ties in well with the Organic Fortnight on one of our Continental Organic shirts:
Yet more proof that organic isn’t just for hippies, it’s for wealthy businessman crime fighting superheroes too.
It’s well worth checking out the Soil Association’s site which includes resources for some nice organic recipes and a game where you can forcefeed Gordon Brown.
For those who want a peak of the Spreadshirt hotpants and tees on Britain’s Next Top Model, here’s a clip.
Things start to get cheeky around 6:35.
For those of us lucky enough to have multichannel and Living TV, there is Britain’s Next Top Model, the diva and drama riddled reality show hosted by Lisa Snowden, featuring a dozen wannabe models who compete with each other to be…em, Britain’s Next Top Model.
As it happens, last night’s episode featured the girls sporting none other than some Spreadshirt-donated hotpants and t-shirts.

Having lost the “Who’s best at ‘Acting’ in a Soap Opera challenge, two of the remaining four girls were made parade around a beach in sunny Rio serving Ice Tea from large kegs, wearing nothing but our girlie t-shirts and hotpants, which demurely read “Tasty and Refreshing” across their booties. “How do you get these on?” said one of the girls, who got a small bit confused and attempted to put the hotpants on backwards.
So, do we reckon these could be Spreadshirt’s next top models?
For those of us who cannot resist the urge to emulate our favourite model d-listers, the hotpants and t-shirts are available here.

Seachd- The Inaccessible Pinnacle is a brand new feature length film from director Simon Miller and the first ever feature film in Scottish Gaelic. Director Simon Miller and crew are looking for a specially designed t-shirt for their shop to promote the movie, and on the t-shirt they need a slogan in both English and Gaelic. This is the first ever Scottish Gaelic feature film to get into the cinemas and the filmmakers hope it will make a difference for the survival of Scotland’s first language so what’s needed is a clever t-shirt slogan that represents both the film and the language.

The Puzzles will very soon be de-listed. Rumor has it that there are only 10 left in stock. That means:
a) They weren’t very popular, hence the delisting
b) The last one we ever produce will be a sort of collectors item
I’ve reserved the last one and we’ll give it away on the blog once the other nine have sold. Alternatively I’ll sell it on ebay and move to Hawaii, oh no wait the puzzles weren’t very popular, I’ll sell it and move to Harlow. On second thoughts, I’ll just give it away.

Recently we ran a little name our pirate contest. The winning name has been chosen. Guess it and you win the last puzzle (with the pirate on it). Here are some clues:
a) It’s more than a little nordic
b) Its managerial, Nancy.
Easy, peasy (for a brit).
